About the iPhone 7 128GB rose gold Pink

Though Apple was the pioneer of the real smart phone, in the past few years there’s been little to be excited about during the annual Apple press conference. But this year is different. This year we get the iPhone 7 and it’s better, faster, and more feature laden than ever before. Apple might have been slipping from top rank, but they’re now back with a vengeance, and the iPhone 7 is the phone to watch this year.

Why should you want one? Obviously you’re going to get excellent performance, and the iPhone 7 is a good looking mobile. But it’s also water resistant, has improved battery life, a great camera set, and all kinds of other extras. This is a stellar mobile, and one that any phone owner would be proud to own.

Key Features on the iPhone 7

This is very obviously a smart phone. There’s the traditional smooth lines, gentle curved corners, and slim profile. It’s also a unibody glass and metal build, so it’s robust and yet lightweight. But there are a few differences. The home button is now haptic rather than physical (it vibrates rather than clicks), and the camera bump is more pronounced than ever.

Under the hood you’re looking at a range of upgrades. Processing power is looking good, a new chip set adds more speed, some nice new camera features appear, and then there’s a slew of other features to add into the mix, including a better battery and water resistance.

This is a high end phone, and it’s one that you’re going to be paying high end prices for, but it is a worthy investment. The iPhone 7 is a fantastic device, and combines power, looks, and awesome extras as well.

Display and Resolution

Obviously, a touch screen is an important component of a smart phone, so let’s start there, and you are getting the 3D touch tech first seen on the iPhone 6S. Other than that you’re getting a 4.7 inch screen (iPhones tend to run small, the iPhone 7 Plus has more screen space though). This seems to be the sweet spot for size, making on screen typing easy and yet meaning that the phone is portable and easy to slip into your pocket.

The only bad news we have is that the iPhone hasn’t yet leapt up into true HD quality. You’re getting 750 x 1334 pixels, so around 326 PPI, which means that picture isn’t as sharp as on some other phones. But it is an LED backlit LCD screen, so colour reproduction is truly amazing, and IPS tech gives better than ever viewing angles.

Is this the best screen on the market? No, but it is a very decent one, and one that most people will be more than satisfied with. The colours in particular are stand out, with images looking natural, bright and glowing.

CPU/OS Specs

Moving on to performance, and things are looking good here. Apple usually don’t release processor numbers, but we’re obviously looking at quad core processing here, and we’re certainly looking at the new A10 Fusion chip set and 2 GB of RAM. Those things combined make for a very speedy and responsive phone indeed.

Of course this is an iOS device, and you’re getting the all new iOS10 out of the box, with all the speed and stability of a new OS version. You get some nice new things too, such as the ability to pick up your phone and wake it, rather than needing to push any buttons, and way better lock screen notifications. Plus, menus are easier to navigate and less crowded.

This is an iPhone and we’d expect nothing but the best when it comes to performance, and fortunately, that’s what we get. Whether you’re a casual user or a more hard core phone fan, the iPhone 7 will do everything you need and then more.

Taking Pictures

Apple haven’t always done a great job with cameras, but luckily the iPhone 7 has some very solid cams to show off. At the front you’ve got a 7 MP cam, which is a little higher than we’d expect to see, and it comes with HDR and auto face focus.

Around at the back you’ll see more or less the same 12 MP cam that premiered on the 6S model, but with a few nice extras. There’s quad LED flash, for a start, which makes for amazing low light pics. And, of course, there’s the normal panorama, HDR, and phase detection auto focus, alongside the ability to take 8 MP pics and 4K video simultaneously.

Long story short, the iPhone 7 has great cameras. No matter whether you’re a pro or an amateur, you’ll love the shots that the 7 takes.

Special Features

There’s no way that we can mention all the special features on the new iPhone, but we should mention a few important ones. That improved battery now promises up to 14 hours of 3G use per charge cycle. The phone is water resistant, with an IP67 rating so it’s fine to be immersed in up to a metre of water for up to thirty minutes. And Apple have dropped the single external speaker in favour of dual speakers for real stereo sound.

The controversial subject here is the lack of a headphone jack, though Apple do supply an adaptor so you can still use your regular headphones, or offer a wireless ear bud option too. Plugging headphones into the lightening charge port means faster data transfer and therefore better sound quality, however it does also mean that you can’t listen to music and charge your phone at the same time.

iPhone 7 128GB rose gold Pink Review

The newest addition to the Apple family is undoubtedly the best iPhone we’ve seen yet, and is a real crowd pleaser. With great performance specs, solid cameras, better sound and audio, and a whole bunch of other features, it’s tough not to love this phone. Apple fans will adore it, and a fair few Android fans might make the switch.

In terms of connectivity, you’re getting the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, and 4G, though the 7 does now support more LTE bands. Internally you’re looking at 128 GB of storage, which is a fair bit, but do remember that there’s no SD card slot so you can’t add any more. However, Apple supply you with an iCloud account for web storage.

Right, time for our complaints. The biggest issue we have is screen resolution, for these prices we’d like to see real HD, but to be fair, the colour reproduction really does a lot to make up for low res. The haptic feedback home button was a little strange at first, though we quickly got used to it. On the whole, the iPhone 7 is a great little device, and has a lot to offer. If you’re up for a top of the line phone, then you’re definitely going to want to check out the iPhone 7.
