I had bad credit, I had a contract on o2 that had just ended and was in my stepdads name due to the bad credit. Thought I’d apply for my own contract, what a good deal from mobile phones direct. I was accepted straight away. New iPhone and cashback offer. Phone arrived the next day. Kept my old o2 number on my new Vodafone phone. No trouble changing over. The cashback offer is good. Lots of complaints about it in other reviews, I tend to read what I’m agreeing to first so I have no issues claiming on month 6,9,12 etc. I’ll just make a note of it on my calendar I can’t see why others are crying about it so much haha, would highly recommend. Thanks MPD,

Can I send a big thank you to Alex AJ and Christina and all staff for giving great customer service recently. I am 71 and in the ‘at risk ‘ group also my brother died from coronavirus last week. I had no connection on my new phone and these three handled the problem with sympathy understanding and empathy. They ensured the solution to the problem was fast tracked and were delightful to deal with. Problem all sorted now. Thank you

Kept getting emails on great deals from them and I bit as I have phones with them through my kids and I wanted a phone with more space. Started the process of filling in all my details o2 account, bank, pac code etc. and got an email saying £2.50 being taken from account to set everything up and the phone is in process of being sent out then the bombshell email came...
"Thank you for the recent order.
Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed your order to completion as it has now been cancelled. For our and (most importantly) your security, we cannot provide additional information and our decision, in this case, is final.
We understand this is not the outcome you were expecting however, please be assured we would not make the decision without careful and thorough consideration. Our call centre staff do not have any additional information and will not be able to assist you with any questions related to this order.
Any upfront payment made is now being processed for a refund and will take 3-5 working days to clear into your account.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
To say I'm offended is an understatement given I have 2 phones already bought via MPD and still, you send me emails on offers as of today.

Agree with most of the cashback reviews. I have missed 3. It should be paid automatically or at the very least they should send a reminder email out.

I ordered 2 of the same phone for me and my daughter, both phones arrived next day, and I was able to change number easily as I requested my old number and gave the PAC code, as it lets you on the website when ordering.
Had one issue putting in the SIM card and customer service was no that helpful but other than that ok.

Very poor advertisement. Ordered a phone with a cashback redemption reducing my bill from £45 to £29 which states this in my email confirmation, but not on my app etc. Tried numerous times to call, email etc. cannot get through to anybody! Absolutely disgusting!

I traded my phone over a week ago and I am still waiting for the payment, the website says you will get the payment in your bank on the same day?
I've rung the call centre a number of times, which just turned out to be a waste of time and the live chat is really slow. The cashback is a bit of a scam also, as you cant get your cashback until month 6. I'd look elsewhere in the future.

I ordered a new iphone as the website said they were in stock. Paid £350 up front but then never received my phone. Customer service is terrible - unable to say when I might get my phone and will take 3 days for a customer service manager to contact me.
Money has been taken from my account but I still have no phone. Have emailed a complaint but got no reply
Very misleading web site, false claims if phones in stock and the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Saw a lot of reviews about bad cashback experiences so was a bit hesitant to order but I've had two of my cashback payments now without issue. Just make sure you keep track in your calendar of which bills to submit. They profit off customers who aren't organised and don't read things, which is a lot by the sounds of it!

You're only allowed to claim cashback in the month due otherwise you lose the payment! What a scam, if you're keeping the contract for the full period, agreed you should be able to still claim the money! Who remembers to claim cashback on your 6th, 9th, 12th, 18th month and so on?? This is not mentioned when you first place the order and no reminders etc. They leave it up to you to make sure you claim it correctly if not you lose your money. Be very careful!

Although there are positive reviews on here if you have any problems with your purchase they do not help. I bought a 'new' phone and received a phone with a dent in the edge of it deep enough to reveal the silver of the metal. Definitely not in pristine condition as they suggest below.
I contacted them immediately. They said to return it for an exchange. I paid for the return which they will not refund. They said despite me writing on the delivery note and my call that they couldnt see the damage. I emailed to tell them and they said they would pass the information to the returns department. A few days later the same phone arrived at my house. They said they didnt see any damage in their warehouse so I must have damaged it which is completely untrue. I had taken a photo before I sent it them so could prove it was damaged before I sent it back. They then said they sent me photos showing no damage which they did not! Nb nothing in the spam or junk email either as they suggest below. They didnt even tell me they were returning the phone to me. They now say if I want to cancel the contract there will be a fee as the phone is damaged! Re below me compensating them for damage that is nothing to do with me! They took my first dd even though I only had the phone a few days and couldnt use it.
Very bad company. Stay away. I thought I had a good deal but clearly it is a con. This phone must have been used before to have damage like this. Also they said you can claim cashback which it seems you cant. Avoid at all costs. In future I will use a slightly more expensive company that is reliable than using these con artists.

Make sure you claim your cashback in the month it is due or it will expire. This was not made clear to me at the time. I couldn't see anything in the FAQs on cashback that tells you that. They certainly won't remind you, hoping that you will forget.

I don’t know how they get away with adverting a contract for a set amount when it does not exist
In my basket, I had a 12-month contract at £41 per month. When I got email confirmation it was £51 per month. Apparently, I have to claim the £240 discount back, by submitting a claim form 5 times over the 24-month contract. This is VERY misleading and I would not have signed up for this as I don’t have time to do this every few months. I will be making a complaint

This cashback scheme is the biggest scam scheme I've seen in my life, imagine still being in a contract with them and they won't honour the cashback because it was more than 60 days after the 6/9 month
Why can't you just do 12 months and 24th? Legit a scam don't not take out contact with them.

I ordered a samsung s10 on vodafone (no one else could offer the contract that MPD offered) My application was at first referred by vodafone (MPD emailed to say that it was nothing to be concerned about) one day later received an email saying all done and order had been accepted! Phone arrived next day via DPD. All in all the whole experience was flawless from start to finish. I Have no issues in recommending MPD

Been with them nearly 3 years and never had any problems with them till now, I'm wanting to change my phone for a newer one and I went through them I found I couldn't get the phone I want cause they said I had data protection problem, I've been with them for nearly 3 years with no issue at all my bank say there no issues, I even got my partner to order the same phone I wanted and she a triple A credit rated and still she was rejected too with the same email I got saying data protection reasons trading standards are been involved now.

I tried to buy Samsung Galaxy Note 9 but they don't want to give me the offer that is on their website. They said your order been cancelled when asking why they say for security reasons we can't tell you the reason. Then they say the contract has been accepted by the network but its declined on our side. Bullshit. I don't get it why it's on their website if they don't want to honour it.

Buyer Beware!
Let me start at the beginning...
Made an online purchase of a new P30 Pro handset with an O2 contract after weeks of research etc as this is an expensive venture for me - and most people. Decided on Mobile Phones Direct Ltd as the reviews were better than most others.Placed all my details onto the online form only to have it be rejected upon final purchase. I knew that this wasn't a funds issue hence it must have been the info I had provided. I had noticed that the address section of the form was a little confusing in terms of building name, number, street name etc. So double checked and resent. This occurred 3x before I decided to ring the company and find out what exactly was going wrong!
I was greeted by Harry. Harry decided to patronize me stating that for the system to prompt me that something had gone wrong was obviously due to my doing something wrong. He then continued to tell me that I may have given an incorrect address and asked me to double check on my bank statement that I had the address correct like I don't know my address! By the end of the conversation, Harry admitted that the online form is not very good and it is something they are looking into. He then took all my details over the phone and it went through without issue. He stated it would arrive on Friday via DPD. I asked if this was correct as it was Good Friday. He confirmed that DPD would deliver it on that day. I, therefore, organised my days to accommodate this (I work bank holidays hence had to take this day off to be home).
An hour later I received a text asking me to contact MPD as they could not finalize this order as yet. Upon contacting them they requested I send through ID information in the way of drivers licence/passport and a recent bill posted to my address. I was at work and really wouldn't be home until late therefore would miss the opportunity of delivery on Friday. When I said this the man on the phone indicated that there was no delivery on Friday as DPD are closed! When I got annoyed the man indicated that I was more than welcome to cancel the order, which felt like a complete cop out by them. I informed them that one way or another I will email through the details they require although it would have been great to have been told this earlier in the day. I therefore went online to my bank account and copied over a statement blanking out pertinent info. It was at this point that I saw that instead of £250 upfront cost for the phone they had take £1000 all together. Back on the phone I went.
James now answered the phone and decided this was a bit too confusing for him, therefore, would escalate to his Supervisor. Moments later he was back on the phone to me requesting that I immediately email all information through and his Supervisor would get back to me asap.
Some time later James rang me back and informed me that my ID had been accepted and the transaction confirmed. He indicated that the £750 overcharge would be returned to my account within 3 - 5 working days and apologized for any inconvenience. He stated that DPD would deliver on Saturday.
DPD was great and delivered as they said they would. I did not open the box until Easter Sunday morning.
One of the things I liked about Huawei is the fact they give you a lovely clear case inside the box in order to protect their amazing coloured handsets; the first thing I noticed upon opening the parcel was the phone was not sealed. I didn't think anything of it as was happy to finally be opening my new purchase. I carefully took the handset out and then took out the cardboard section containing the sim card key and the clear case. I opened this section only to find that it did not contain the clear protective case at all (despite an image of the case and sim key on the cardboard to confirm contents within).
As I said I did a lot of research regarding differing phones and visited both an EE shop and an O2 shop both of which confirmed that a case is provided with the phone.
At this point, I realized why the case was not sealed in that someone must have gone into the box and removed the clear case. I immediately and carefully placed all the contents back into the box and attempted to contact MPD. It was Sunday and they were closed.
On Monday morning I made contact. This time Nicky took my call. I explained all to Nicky. Nicky stated that she would have to find out from Sales if a case is included. She returned and stated that Huawei used to provide a case but not anymore. I stated that the phone is only a month old so how is it that they 'used to'? I also informed her that I had various sites already loaded including videos of people unboxing their recent P30 Pro purchases and all had cases. I informed her that I had visited phone shops who also confirmed that a case with the phone. I told her I was not happy at all as this was tantamount to theft. Nicky told me she had informed her Supervisor of the situation and that her Supervisor would get back to me in the next couple of days.
This wasn't good enough for me given the phone was still boxed and yet I was paying for my contract. Her immediate response was that she was more than happy to process my cancellation and that she had other calls waiting, therefore, wished to move on from our conversation. I was lost for words. Nicky continued to tell me none of this was her fault and that she has done all that she can. She actually confirmed at this point that yes, the phone comes with a case but she doesn't know what happened to mine.
I tried to calm her down and told her this was not personal but appreciate that I have had nothing but issues with Mobile Phones Direct and that being told it may take a couple of days to receive a call regarding my missing case after everything that has happened was not good. Nicky then informing me that it would cost me £8 to return the phone and have all money returned including cancellation of the O2 contract set up. Nicky also gave me the address in Slough of their returns Department.
The conversation closed with me suggesting someone contact me asap and let me know where my case was and offer some sort of solution based customer service. Nicky reiterated that Lou, being Lousie may contact me in the next couple of days. Failing that I was more than welcome to cancel this deal within 14 days.
I am now waiting to see what happens, therefore, will add to this in due course.

I just don't understand why you should have to claim back the money yourself. Looks as though you want customers to forget to claim. Why not just pay out the money! I forgot to claim back on time 3 times, claimed 4th and they are refusing last one ignoring my emails. Avoid this scammers!

Have used them a few times now over a number of years and can't really find fault with them. Wide selection of phones and deals and fast delivery. No complaints or niggles at all

They will not respond to your cashback claim and their customer service agents are rude and unprofessional.
Bottom line you don't get your cash back.

Mobile direct as company is very good , but DPD - company what delivery for them is rubbish! Friday 25 of January I waist a day bcos driver from DPD went to wrong address. DPD customer service is awful and not helpful. Yesterday I did complain to mobile direct about DPD and get bit disappointed bcos lady told me I should directly complain to them. I can’t is automatic on the phone can’t get hold and on live chat so many different people rude saying so many different things n they are not helpful at all. I thought I can get help from mobile direct I think if you are using they maybe you should do something about it . Well I’m happy with mobile direct but I think they should definitely change delivery company as DPD is terrible.

The MPD website was easy to use, I ordered a Huawei P20 pro and it was the cheapest deal I could find anywhere. Free next day delivery and they kept me up to date with tracking. Great camera and loving the phone. Overall very pleased!

Mobile Phones Direct keep on spamming your email even if you are not subscribed so they do not respect your rights.
They also never reply to their emails.
The deals might be good but avoid them if you want good customer service.

Absolute liars, they took my order 3 days ago stating next day delivery, they never had the stock, they did the credit check, gave me a delivery date & never informed me it was not going to be delivered, they are still selling the phones even though they do not have stock, this is fraudulent, although my reveiw on Trust Pilot was totally truthful, they have managed to get it suspended while it is looked into just so they can con more people in this festive period!!

I need to return S9 after 2 days as I didn't like the phone but their customer service number is not even going through. I think they deliberately don't answer calls for returned items but If you need to buy any contract they will answer it straight away. Scumbags!

Attempted several times to get through to customer service as I needed to return my phone. In the end I was on hold for 2 hours!!!! No option of a call back and no way of returning without an EAN number. Unless the phone is faulty this cannot be requested by email!
Disgusting customer service, will not be using mobile phones direct again

Ordered a refurbished iPhone X as part of the Black Friday sales.
The iPhone was delivered in perfect condition and look completely new when I removed it from the box so very pleased.
Still delivered next day despite warnings about delays.
Will be back to upgrade in 24 months time!
Thanks

Disgusting company - avoid
AVOID THIS SCUM - GO TO FONEHOUSE
23/11 I ordered an IPhone XR for myself on Vodafone. Half an hour after doing so we did the same for my wife on EE. EE goes through fine but the Vodafone deal is declined but you can’t give a reason. This is an absolute joke.
Used MPD twice previously and NEVER again.
Sorry to say to others waiting for the Vodafone offers, read this and the below and unfortunately you can see what’s coming.
Before you try and palm others off about Vodafone being the ones declining the contract I strongly suggest you rethink your tactics here. As with others we've checked with Vodafone (handy when you know people that work there) and they’ve had nothing from you to “check my details”.
Clearly, you have taken too many orders on Vodafone to meet your stock levels. As others have said, after checking with Vodafone they’ve not been contacted to perform any checks with my details. Having used you twice in the past I shall never do so again. You leave customers hanging for days, cutting off calls, failing to answer questions in social media for days on end as you haven’t got the guts to be honest and truthful with people. When you do reply to comments on here it’s a simple copy and paste job which doesn’t even cover any aspect of other reviewers submissions.
I’m going to be contacting trading standards and strongly urge others in the same position to do so as this is not how you conduct business.
You don’t even merit the 1 star above you vile pack of liars, you don’t deserve people’s hard earned money.
Update 27/11 - received call from “she who must not be named” as MPD have a bit of a tantrum and hissy fit and report you for putting the first name of the person you have spoken to like we’re all going to get out pitchforks out bring back the witches ducking chair. My names on this review so what gives. Anyway, female Voldemort said Vodafone do the checks. Spoken to Vodafone again and the said they don’t do the credit checks for third party companies. Emailed Erin back waiting for further answers.
Update (2) 27/11 - following further conversations on the network check front, I’ve been advised to get an Agreement BAN from Vodafone and then MPD will let me apply for a new deal, not the one I originally ordered! Within minutes of reading that email, I’ve now received another saying my order is now approved and is being readied to be shipped.
Update 28/11 - email received from the CEO who said MPD wouldn’t honour the deal even after an email confirming I’d been approved. My reply as follows
“Thank you for your reply.
I’ve zero confidence in your company it just seems to be one entire mess. I’m now doubtful the credit check was done properly in the first place.
I’m passing full details of this (along with other people in the same boat from social media conversations) to BBC Watchdog, Ofcom, Trading Standards.
Should you not be offering referral rights to the ombudsman if I am not satisfied with the response to my complaint. Thought that was standard complaints protocol.
Many Thanks”
As of 17:52 on 29/11 I’ve had no reply but MPD have lost an entire star rating on here in less than a week, what a top job your doing.
All I and others want is honesty and the truth. Why is that so hard!
Update 30/11 still no reply received to my further chaser email. 😢
Update 1/12 still being ignored. 👎🏻

This company is by far the worst online retailer I have ever dealt with. They are scammers, do not use!!! I returned a phone in perfect condition they even said it was fine and were sending me my refund. The next day I get photos of a phone I didn’t even have with dents all over it and now charging me money! I did not even remove the plastic. I had the phone a day and sent it back next morning, It didn’t leave the house. I’m demandig proof and IMEI no to prove it was the same phone and they will not send me it!!! AVOID!!!

Has to be the best mobile phone site I have used. The website was easy to use with very competitive prices, their confirmation emails with updates were very efficient.
I ordered the phone in the evening and received it next day before 12noon. Can't ask for more than that.

Phoned up to claim cash back which they will not honour. Promised on 3 occasions a call back which never happened. Would never use them again.

They don't even deserve 1 star!
Ordered a Samsung S9 on contract with no upfront cost. Went through whole process and then received a confirmation order where they've added £89.99 up front cost!
Rang customer services who confirmed they couldn't find an upfront cost on their system so don't know why it's been added to my bill but they can see it has. They now have to email their finance section to check as finance don't have phones (ironic of a mobile phone company).
Now have to wait up to 4 days for a response!
Shocking company avoid like the plague!

I have used several times and will definitely use again to upgrade another family member in the coming months.

Wouldn't even give one star the worst phone company I ever dealt with, always making excuses about my handset would NOT recommend to anyone.

The second time I have used Mobile Phones Direct and both times have been great. Phone delivered next day as promised and in full working order. Also got a great deal on EE that bagged me double data and it was the best deal I could find anywhere.

I went for the cheapest deal here even if I did not know the company beforehand. But I was positively surprised beyond my expectations. The customer service was prompt in replying to my queries, the process took less than two days between placing the order and delivery. The handset is immaculate and works perfectly. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mobile Phones Direct.

I’ll start by saying MPD has great deals but I think their delivery could be better. I was under the impression my phone would be getting delivered next day, ordered well within the time frame to get it. However surprise surprise it didn’t turn up, no emails, no updates, and online tracking said TBC for at least 2 days. Tried ringing up but was told they have no more info, just what was on the tracking service – not exactly helpful. The phone finally turned up 4 days later and I’m very happy with the deal just think the delivery policies etc. need to be clearer. If I needed this phone ASAP I’d have been in a real pickle.

My wife bought a phone that came with a free PS4 which we done so my son could get the console for his birthday. Phone came quickly but the PS4 did not come at same time and sadly didn’t arrive in time for use as a present which was disappointing. I spoke to them and they give me some stuff about gifts are always delivered after the phone etc. etc. I say why it no says that clearly on site? They say it does. Not really happy with the slow gift delivery but all sorted now. Deal is quite expensive cos you are paying for the gift in the monthly line rental too. Lack of communication and clarity from them.

New phone and contract recently purchased online, after a lot of research Mobile Phones Direct had the best deal. Simple transaction and phone received within 48 hours. Minor problem because the free accessory was not shipped with the phone. The problem was sorted very efficiently after a call to customer services. Very impressed with the attention to detail including call back to confirm how the problem would be resolved.B ased on my experience I'd highly recommend Mobile Phones Direct.

Very pleased with Mobile Phones Direct as they saved me about £20 a month. Originally planned on buying from an EE shop but some of the quotes they gave me were sky high and the sales guy was telling me I wouldn’t find anyone to beat them. I decided to look online and stumbled on mobilephonesdirect.co.uk and found a great deal that blew EE out the water. Ordering was easy and delivery perfect. Can’t fault them!
Wasn’t sure about using this company after seeing a few negative reviews but the deal they had was far better than the one I could get direct with EE so decided to take a bit of a risk and go for it. I’m glad I did tbh as everything worked well, got next day delivery, the phone I wanted and well within my budget. Great service!

I have used mobile phones direct for my last 2 contract phones. Both times they have promised next day delivery and both times they have failed on that promise. First time I was willing to give benefit of the doubt but seen as though it happened again 18 months later I am beginning to think the next day delivery promises are complete BS! My advice to mobilephonesdirect would be don’t give me expectations and then fail to meet them otherwise I will shop elsewhere no matter how good your deals are!
I found mobile phones direct a bit poor on the customer service front but the overall experience was ok. They sent me a phone but the wrong SIM card came with it. Spent ages on the phone on hold in some annoying queue system and then was cut off when I was supposedly second in the queue.
Phone was good however and a decent price just hard to get in contact with to resolve it, which it now has been thankfully. Quick to set up the direct debit, not quick to pick up the phone

Really pleased with my experience with mobile phones direct. I ordered a phone but changed my soon after so decided to cancel and change. I’ve always bought my phones on the high street but decided to give Mobile Phones Direct a go after a mate of mine said their prices were out of this world. Turns out he was right and some of the deals on the iPhone 6 were easily the best I have seen. Decided to take the plunge and ordered one, phone came 2 days after ordering, well packaged and with the SIM card. Setup was easy and I was up and running in no time at all. Safe to say I won’t be using the high street again when I’m due an upgrade. Quality!

Very happy with the company, I ordered my phone on the 11th and it arrived the next day along with my free speaker! Customer service has been exceptional, I was kept updated of my entire process via email and I cannot fault them on any part of the transaction. A very trustworthy company, which is rare these days! The website was super easy to use, the delivery super quick and the deal I got was amazing - £19.99 a month for something that would cost me £30 from other companies. I literally have no complaints, this company have exceeded my expectations!

Mobile Phones Direct gave me a deal on getting my phone and I had it the very next day. It's a blessing that they deliver until 8 as my phone came just as I got in from work. Result.
I didn't do tons of searching but it felt like Mobile Phones Direct had the best offers on gifts with phones. A lot of other sites felt like they were ripping you off with the gifts, so it was nice to have a site that actually gives you something good with your phone. Good prices, good service, and a happy customer.
