Can you live without television? Probably not. As the television industry continues to innovate and expand, new TV models are out in the market quicker than we can blink. In this sudden surge of choices, the 40 inch UE40H5000 Series 5 Full HD LED TV stands out. Although it does not have some of the functionality and 3D options higher range models boast of, the 5 series is a great option for you if all you want is a full HD experience in the LED bracket.
At 40 inches, the screen looks grand with an amazingly clear display. With a 1920 X 1080 resolution, you can expect to enjoy a pristine and sharp viewing experience. It comes packed with a square stand that compliments the unit beautifully. Unlike some of the other models that look smaller than they actually are due to the wide bezels encrusted on the screen border, the 5 series uses a slim bezel that makes the screen look bigger and the overall unit slim. The black front contributes to the style quotient. At less than 50 mm of depth, this is one paper thin device that can add loads of character to an otherwise barren living area. The all black single design makes it one of the sleekest machines to own.
With a HyperReal engine inside, this unit uses top of the line technology offered by Samsung to create the perfect viewing experience. Wide Color Enhancer and Dynamic Contrast Ratio will help you in enjoying your favourite movies and other content with no strain on the eyes. With a motion rate of 100Hz, this one will let you kick back and enjoy your favourite show in style.
The Samsung UE40H5000 series is a full HD set at 1080 pixels. At its price point, this is one of the best ‘value for money’ buys for pure viewing pleasure. The textures and images are stunning and vivid is an understatement for the quality of colour control on this set.
Samsung’s Clean View technology makes little of any digital noise that might hamper viewing experience and what you get on the screen is an enhanced picture that would probably look choppy and dotted on some lesser machines.
ConnectShare is a great way to just plug in and watch your favourite films off your pen drives. It’s time to dig out all those pen drives strewn around and just for this feature. Load them up with all your favourite content. Then all you need is popcorn. The TV will give you a cinematic feeling in the comfort of your coach.
The feature set is complete with multiple language support, subtitles, picture in picture mode that lets you see two views simultaneously along volume levelling and timers among many others. Audio is provided through full range DTS 5.1 studio sound
With the regular fare thrown in, including all the composite and component slots, this set provides two HDMI slots so that pairing up your home theatre and gaming console is a breeze and no one feels left out. A headphone jack is put in for good measure. At least now while you enjoy the picture and sound on this beast, your neighbours or worse, your spouse can sleep in peace.
Watching television is like second nature to us. None of you might be bothered about the amount of electricity the TV set consumes while you happily flick channel after channel and turn into a zombie watching it for hours on end. Samsung however, cares. This is made obvious by the fact that the 5 series gets a clap worthy A class in energy efficiency and comes loaded with Eco sensors. Power consumption in energy saving mode is a paltry 27W.
With mini and Vesa wall mount support this unit can be hooked up into any wall of your home. The box contains an easy to use and intuitive remote controller, power cable, user manual and batteries along with the unit of course.
Just a step away from other smart functionalities, the 5 series is a great buy at its price point for the kind of features it offers. With a clear cut focus on providing the best picture quality with full HD functionality, the 5 series assumes a no-nonsense and hands down approach to TV viewing. If you have media, it urges you to just load, plug it in and watch instead of any complicated procedures. The use of some of Samsung’s excellent technology takes care of all the regular evils of TV including contrast and refresh rate problems. If you have not yet been bitten by the 3D bug or don’t care much about browsing the internet or chatting with friends through your TV and just want the best viewing experience for which TVs are made in the first place, pick up this model today.

The Samsung UE40H5000 is an excellent HD TV. It has good screen, good viewing angles and great picture quality. The chassis is slimmer and sleeker than previous models. It is a well-designed TV too so looks great if left on show in the living room. The colours are well balanced and the LED Clear Motion is an excellent feature that has been well-thought out by Samsung. You don’t get HDMI cable with the box but you get all the other necessary cables.
Bad points? There are only two HDMI inputs and there’s no reason as to why there couldn’t have been more. The sound quality is decent but in this era a 40 inch TV should give that bit extra. None of these drawbacks are by any means a deal breaker though, the TV is still highly recommended.
