About the iPhone 5s 16GB Grey

If technology is all about making people’s lives better and more convenient, it would not be unfair to say that Apple offers the best of technology. Ever since the company’s inception in Cupertino, it has been consistently releasing a range of products with an intention to offer the best of technology to people. The iPhone 5S is no different

The device looks and feels like the iPhone 5. Physically, the phone has exactly the same look and feel as the iPhone 5. With the chassis being made completely out of aluminum, the phone looks sleek and neat. It measures around 7.6mm in thickness and is compact and comfortable to hold. Weighing just 112g, it is lighter than most other smartphones in the market. Like the iPhone 5, the buttons and other physical features are in their respective places – the rounded volume rockers on the left hand side; a slot for the nanoSIM on the right; the headphones jack, the speakers and the lightning charger port on the bottom portion; and an overhauled home button being the center of attraction.

Though there was much anticipation revolving around the screen size of the device, Apple has decided to roll out the same screen size as that of the iPhone 5 – or the other recent iPhone iterations, to be precise. The screen measures 4 inches, which is much smaller than most of the Android and Windows counterparts in the market. The visual side is powered by Retina Display, which offers one of the best visual qualities ever. The pictures look stunning and colourful. When zoomed in, the display clearly brings out the minutest of detail precisely. The resolutions and the pixel-per-inch ratio remain the same as that of the iPhone 5, thereby maintaining the previously set standards by Apple in terms of visual appeal.

The developers, in the process of creating the iPhone 5S, have throttled up on the technical specifications. They have rightly gauged the mobile computing demands of people and have acted accordingly. This iteration of the flagship phone comes with an A7 dual core processor that operates at a clock speed of 1.3GHz. The processor is powerful enough to handle complex tasks and allows users to effortlessly push this device to the max. With a GB of RAM and a quad core graphics chipset, the device offers console-style graphics and performance. Gaming in this device is brilliant, specifically without the headset. With stunning video quality and impressive audio quality being delivered by the speakers, gaming is truly amazing in the iPhone 5S.

Further, under the hood there rests an additional processor that has been included to take care of the battery life of the device. Known as the M7 processor, the unit lends support in helping to increase the charge-to-charge lifespan of the 5S by receiving and processing data from the motion sensor based equipment attached to the device – such as the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope and more. This enables the main processor to take care of the computing needs of the users, while the M7 takes care of the analytical side. Technically, the iPhone 5S is far superior to most of the smartphones in the market.

TouchID is one of the major features of the device. It replaces the passcode technology and comes as a better and safer solution in terms of security. To unlock the phone and access content, users will now have to have their fingerprints scanned by the sensor placed underneath the home button. Once the fingerprint is recognized, the phone will grant access to the phone. Up to 5 finger prints can be scanned and registered, out of which any one can be used to unlock and gain access to the phone.

Apart from this, some of the other features like the camera and connectivity remain the same as the iPhone 5. The device is available in different variants depending upon the storage capacity and colours and users can choose the one that suits their needs.

iPhone 5s 16GB Grey Review

A big improvement here from Apple and the 5s is a top quality smartphone. The 4 inch Retina display with 1136 X 640 megapixels is a joy to watch videos on. The A7 Chip combined with the M7 motion processor handled everything we threw at it with ease.

TouchID is a fun new addition and adds that little bit more security and it can be used to purchase from the App Store or iTunes which is much easier than tying in a lengthy password. The 8 megapixel camera takes top quality photos and is capable of HD video recording. iOS 7.0, advanced wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 make the iPhone 5s a very useful and easy-to-carry smartphone.

Any bad points? Our only criticism of Apple phones is the lack of customisation. The user is stuck with what he has got. Other smartphones that use Android and Windows allow their users to explore freely. Download new apps, customize their home screens and other such stuff.  It’s definitely something for Apple to consider.
